To inspire or be inspired!

This week I have been brought to my knees once again. After our radio show on Monday, I lost my voice.. It is scratchy and comes and goes.... and now it is Friday. I try to talk just to make myself laugh because it sounds so funny! Not having a voice is exactly how I have felt as of late and my body is just merely reflecting back to me my feelings and thoughts.
Wednesday I asked, well actually yelled (in my funny voice), in the middle of the park while walking the dogs.. I just looked up and said in my frustration:
"Show me clearly what my purpose is!"
I am tired of doing a million things. I am an overachiever and workaholic, so in my mind there is nothing I cannot do. But I need to do things that I love; I do not need to do EVERYTHING.
That same night, I agreed to accompany and be J'Lyn Nye's groupie to her speaking event the next day. Sure I barely had a voice but I just wanted to get out of town, even if it was 1.5 hours away.
J'Lyn Nye (formally of Global TV Edmonton news anchor who is now JOEFM radio star morning co-host) has an amazing story; one filled with death, divorce, body building.. and so much more. She is a driven, focused and loving individual. I have been in awe with how she graciously interacts with the public. Every time I have been with her, she has been asked to be in a picture; she is that recognizable in Edmonton. Even Nash, my partner, admits to having a small crush on her.
I have been struggling with my story for the last year. I love inspirational speaking and want to use my story on how I unintentionally healed myself from Diabetes and Cancer, among many other illnesses. I am a walking miracle and why don't I own that?
What am I afraid of? That I will be looked at as odd, that perhaps that I am too young to be sharing my story, to write my experience and to speak to thousands. Then J'Lyn looked at me and said "But it is your story - YOURS - share it."
As we were driving, I received this email:
Hello Hannah,
I have had more clients with cancer lately and have been thinking of you.
I want you to know that I think your story is sooo important and I am happy to have heard it!
Keep sharing it!...People need to know from one who KNOWS...
Blessings,
Sarah
Oh Sarah, you are a blessing and you have no idea the perfect timing of this email. Check out Sarah Salter Kelly as is an amazing healer with an incredible story of how her very own mother was murdered in Edmonton and her process of healing. CLICK HERE.
When J'Lyn and I arrived at her speaking event we were greeted by friendly and open people. It turns out that some people there "recognized" me and had seen me speak over a year ago.
J'Lyn motivational speech was moving and inspired me. She said this quote:
"...only she who attempts the absurd can achieve the impossible."
I may have no idea how I will become a WORLD REKNOWNED Inspirational Speaker and perhaps it is not a typical career.. But I was not put on this earth to be normal. I was not "given" chronic sickness, illness, injuries and disease to be silent or to fit into a mold.
I will embrace my true gifts with a new love that cannot be denied. I will show people through my story and improvisational humor what it means when we are sick, injured and plagued with disease, to move people to deeper emotional levels and to use my intuition for its highest good. To inspire people to be who they want to be now.
I did that today, Friday, as I went on air with my business partner and best friend Marlene Chapman. We were on the morning show 92.5 JOEFM with Rhubarb and J'lyn and we for the first time "owned" who we are. It felt good, we helped people, we were in the moments and our gifts were fully engaged in a way we had never experienced before. At the end of the morning, Rhubarb gave us a gift it was a chocolate heart. Quite the sign of love and being open; we just received our heart!
"The proof is in the pudding" as they say. We went back to The Center with more calls and emails we have ever had from a media interview. It took me 3 hours to return all of them!
A few hours later, my mom wrote me a beautiful email. She had no idea the internal process I had just been through. I cried a deep emotional and healing cry. She is a beautiful writer and has always spoken from her heart. She has shown me time and time again how to stay open even if you feel hurt. Thank you mom for your strength and love. I will treasure you forever.
We all need emails like this. I challenge each and every one of you to write something wonderful about your husband, wife, sister, friends, children... Send it to them. We need to hear more often about our strengths, we need to hear them every day.
I want to thank some very instrumental people in my life from this week; whether they know it or not. Thank you J'lyn for being open, strong and supportive of other people's gifts. You are a true example of how to be successful and support others success at the same time. I learned that I too can be supportive and shine at the same time. You are an inspiration and a mentor to me.

Thank you to Nash and Marlene for always showing me my mirrors and holding my light when I cannot.
Thank you to all of you at The Center who had to put up with me not being there from being sick and also for your support and love. It is an awesome place to work because of you.
Thank you Rhu for giving me heart.
Thank you to Sarah for being an inspiration and trusting your intuition to email me.
Thank you to my mom who is wise, loving and open. You understand me and are the best cheerleader in the world.
I asked the question and I got the answer. It is time that I truly do what I was meant to do, I have received all of the assurances and signs that speaking and sharing my story is my purpose.
And so it is.
