Ah-Ha

I had one of those weeks I will never forget.

I feel blessed to be working actively in the community and sharing my story of THRIVING from Cancer. I am months shy from hitting 5 years of living healthy.

I would never change being diagnosed with cancer at the young of 25; it changed my life, my career and my relationships. I love life, I have drive, passion, focus and most of all it taught me how to be grateful and love like I have never loved before.

Soaring with Song benefiting the Canadian Breast Cancer Society at the Winspear Centre. I was asked to share my story in the midst of some of the most talented Youth in Edmonton. There was singing and dancing all backed up by David Foster's band, William Joseph and Brent Kissel. My segment with CTV's Carrie Doll was moving for me. Sitting up there in front of 1500 people including the Edmonton Mayor and some Oilers.

I can not explain it except that it hit me so hard, I realized in a second all that I have gone through to be there in that moment. It was emotional, it was moving, it was the ah-ha moment I needed.

This was a night of celebration, hope, reflection and love. A Big Thank You to everyone who put that night on - it was amazing.

For the rest of the week, I was speaking at various events from Singles Group to Alberta Cancer Foundation, I enjoyed meeting so many people, all with their unique and inspiring story.

My ah-ha moment for the whole week was this... After 5 years, I thank cancer because without it I would never have known how to enjoy this life, how to love and how to be present. I am grateful for this.
